He declined to take on Obama in 2012. Probably would have lost.

Obama would have been tough for anyone to beat, being the Lightworker and performing miracles and all, but Mitch might have done it. He is wickedly funny, would have run rings around Obozo intellectually, and could have mocked him with class and good high humor. Lefties can't take ridicule. That might have been Obama's Achilles heel. I still think Mitch might have made the run absent the spousal veto, which was absolute.

That’s the the 17th amendment problem. A short 60-day campaign with a surprise nominee. She would have had to go along. The opposition party would not have that much time to get their research together. In and out. Incumbency made the GOP nominee a sacrificial lamb.
