Nope. Idiot.

I guess my brevity wasn't quite understood.

ADM Rogers was the director of the National Security Agency, not the National Security Advisor. The former is a military appointment that requires congressional approval to head a spy agency and military command at Fort Meade, Maryland. The Director of the NSA isn't even the highest ranking intelligence official in the US government, or the one with the President's ear. Pre-9/11 that was the director of the CIA, now it's the Director of National Intelligence, or DNI, which is a cabinet level official.

Nobody calls this person "NSA Rogers" ever not in news stories, not in interoffice memos, never... unless they don't understand what they're talking about.

The National Security Advisor is a political appointment which does not carry any obligation for congressional approval. The person who sits in that position frequently acts as one of the closest advisors to the President within the White House and while not a cabinet official, acts at that level of the food chain.

If you are going to run a blog/journal/news site and run articles that touch on national politics, and you demonstrate that you don't know the damned difference between the two positions in the first two sentences, there's zero credibility in anything that comes afterwards.

Either the article's author is absolutely uninformed, the site's editorial process is garbage, or it's a personal blog rehashing something posted on Conservative Treehouse or Gateway Pundit two days ago.
