Ho Chi Minh or Nguyen Ai Quoc - was a sadistic, vicious killer of his own people who conducted a genocidal campaign against his country as soon as he seized power.

You seem to be clinging (almost desperately) to an outdated neo-liberal world view.

If the 1956 election to unify Vietnam had been allowed to take place as required by the Geneva Accords, Ho Chi Minh would have been elected President of the entire country, and the Communist insurgency that followed could have been avoided.

Instead, the gangster Ngo Dinh Diem with his Western puppet masters and rigged referendums would not allow the agreed to democratic process to move forward...knowing that given the chance the Vietnamese people would freely choose Ho Chi Minh.

So much for Vietnam being "the cornerstone of the Free World in Southeast Asia", as it was characterized by the junior Senator from Massachusetts at the time.

Of course Diem himself was disposed of via assassination/coup seven years later by the same folks that put him into power...as was Kennedy.

Go figure.

Ho Chi Minh also worked in the kitchen of a Boston hotel during that same time period.

It was no mere coincidence (imo) that Ho managed extended visits to the cities that birthed both the French and American revolutions.

Once again, all you're doing is repeating the old Leftist, pro-enemy propaganda in the hope that this time, somebody will buy into it.

Ho Chi Minh terrorized the North with forced collectivization and religious persecution from the beginning and simutaneously infiltrating the south with Viet Minh cadres who became the Viet Cong. The Vietcong and the NVA operating in the south were the "gangsters".

The elections were not held because the communists wouldn't let the south alone to decide for themselves: a little difficult with assassinations, terror bombings and raids going on.

Who the South picked and how their government functioned was their choice, not yours or Kennedy's. The point was that the communists would not allow any choice to be made - it was war from the moment the French decamped.

Bozos like you helped the enemy along throughout our war. You and people like you backed the trips to Hanoi (and Moscow and Beijing) to coordinate the "protests". You and people like you planned, scheduled, and provided logistics for mass demonstrations to cripple our support during our war. You and those like you carried the enemy's flag in our streets and chanted that the "NLF is going to win" - all while me and thousand with me, suffered the heat, the rains, the gunfire and mines and lost lives and parts of our bodies.

You were and are traitors.
