that’s a good question -

I checked his wiki page and it says after he tested positive the first time, he tested negative and he was taking tests before Tokyo, which is no help.

The SUN uk says that after that first positive he tested negative and competed in a tourny a few weeks later. Then sometime between June 20 tourney and July 25 announcement, he got vaccinated. Which would have put him outside the ‘second shot plus 2 weeks’ window for best protection. I don’t know if he was infected with Delta both times, had a false positive, or if one was Alpha and one Delta. It is possible to get infected with Delta after recovering from Alpha just because Delta is a stronger virus.

But it must have been a mild infection because he played ‘top ten’ in the Scottish Open Rolex series Jul 10, a ‘near picture-perfect’ round on July 19 in England, and won the 2021 US Open on Aug 1.

Don’t forget that Elon Musk got tested four times in one sitting and two came back positive and two came back negative.

Real reliable test there.
