The Renaissance was the 15th and 16th century, not even close to the late 18th century, which was the age of Enlightenment. I cringe when I see how ignorant some writers are! And they tell us what to do!!!!
Well I supposed even the Noblesse Oblige like Maureen Dowd can be critical of this Administration, but can’t bring themselves to recognize that revolutions are the result of tyranny. Better to just compare Marie Antoinette as “renaissance” than to depict her end the result of the people pushed to their brink.
Though in a way, she’s also calling Obama a Queen.
