Get a Mac !
Done
Go to lenovo dot com and update your graphics card driver.
I just took a brand new Lenovo out of the box and installed Linux Mint as dual boot.
Kick ass PC now... :)
Since the laptop is only a few months old it sounds like a possible hardware issue. Personally, it always seems to me if a piece of electronic gear is going to fail, it will fail within the first year as all the components burn in. If it makes it past a year, it’s good basically forever.
I’ve been looking at Lenovo (pc division formerly IBM) because of their overall desktop design (mini tower). Any new system is pricy which is not a problem but I wouldn’t expect problems after just 6 months. Why can’t you call the American support center?
This is a made for Japan computer . Only Japanese support available . I paid for 3 year top support plan so they must help me out here .
Not a laptop . It’s an all in one desktop .
made for Japan. Does that mean it is specific to that country only? Software, language etc?
HUh? I thought The Japanese favor Sony Vaio more than chicom Lenovo.
>> the screen suddenly went all white
Does this happen when you have many browser tabs open?
I never have more than 3 or 4 tabs open at the same time . This morning I had 2 open - Youtube and Twitter . Going to take an afternoon nap and have the wife call Lenovo in an hour or so .
I wanted an all-in-one not a laptop . Also , with the exception of Lenovo , all online support for PC makers is in China . I’d rather deal with Japanese in Japan which was why I didn’t buy a Dell or other . Even Asus - a Taiwan company - has tech phone support in China .
“made for Japan. Does that mean it is specific to that country only? Software, language etc?”
If PC is bought in Japan one can get Japanese tech/telephone support only . When I had problems with my Dell - whose telephone support is in China - they wouldn’t hand me over to an English speaker so my wife had to deal with them . Lousy support which is why I didn’t buy another Dell .
Learn some Japanese swear words. Practice them before you call again.
I just spilled my coffee on me. Really. :)
Many postings on the issue. This issue goes back many years.
You will see postings from 2015.
One suggestion is to connect a external monitor to the hdmi port. If it works then it is the Lenovo screen that needs repair.

If it were the monitor why would I lose audio as well ? Last 2 times I was watching something on Youtube .
I can only blame the communists in China and Russia.
Imperial Japan warranty service may know who to blame.
Windows 10 has issues with sound. Try the steps here:

It is a Word doc with screenshots with troubleshooting steps.
When I get calls at work I also use the Dell Command tool to check for missing drivers.
Lenovo should have site with all the drivers.
