Interesting image.
We have long seen evidence in the arctic ea ice albedo as it gets darker and darker in every measured survey since 1992 - that the Chinese air pollution is spreading across that region.
More smoke (then from China, this year also from CA) =>
darker, more sooty snow and ice surface =>
more sunlight is absorbed =>
more heat absorbed into the ice =>
more (and earlier) snow melt =>
less sea ice through the year.
