That’s not true with the Delta variant. Hospitals are filling up with kid with COVID. It is true that the mortality rate for kids is still very low. It is also true that RSV is causing some hospitalizations, but COVID hospitalizations of kids is still spiking.
Get vaccinated. Wear a mask. COVID and vaccines are not part of some conspiracy. I work in healthcare with a lot of doctors who give this advice, and I trust them. Doctors I’ve known for decades didn’t suddenly become part of some conspiracy.

And they know that how exactly? My wife had an upper respiratory infection for a few weeks. Tested negative for Covid multiple times. I asked the ER Doc about the “Delta” variant and he laughed and said he had “no idea where they are coming up with these numbers, because there is no separate test for Delta” He explained that you test either positive or negative for Covid. There’s no way to know what variant you have.
When they have a vaccine maybe I’ll get it.
Right now, all they have is an experimental genetic therapy.
Also, how do they tell?
There is no test for the delta variant. They have to sequence the virus to determine that it is ‘delta.’
So interesting these med experts with their "Hospitals are all filled up!" declarations.
So maybe PATy is familiar with one med center - but somehow knowledgeable about ALL regional hospitals??
We have the same bleating from others who sound like clinicians or who "work with a lot of doctors" like this. 18 months into a pandemic and our med resources are now overwhelmed??
No one is saying not to wash hands and all that - we here can use good judgement.
