What dosage were/are you taking [in IUs]?
I take 5,000 IU / day and have for about 5 years. Plus incidental amounts from food, multivitamin, solar exposure, etc. And get enough vitamin K from eggs every day.
My 6’1” son was told last winter to take 5,000 IU of D for his winter depression (SAD). That would be 125 mg. of D under the new labeling. Was this a deliberate attempt to confuse people. At any rate 1000 IU equals 25 mg. of D. At 5’3” and age 83 I am taking 5,000 in winter and 2 or 3 thousand in other seasons if I am getting outside part of the time into the sun. There is some D in my Calcium supplement, my cal/mag/zinc tablet and one-a-day vitamin so I have to add them up and regulate the dose of any plain D tablets/capsules that I might take in addition.
