When I put myself in the shoes of almost any of the people “John” listed and threaten with exposure, I think about how well connected those people are.
I also think about those people communicating with one another.

Now that he is a federal whistleblower, he has help but he is still using burner phones and evasive manuevers. Even now, they seem to think they can make the testimony he's already given disappear. An active FBI agent threatened him to stop talking about Jan 6.

General Flynn’s son offered to broker a meeting with Wood and his dad to pass evidence to him as Wood has claimed he only trust Gen. Flynn.
Wood never contacted Flynn Jr. instead a little time passed and then Wood was on to someone else making very outrageous claims, with lots of proof.

So there could be no legitimate reason, like chain of custody, or the false portrayal of Flynn Jr. as someone intent on revenging himself against people like Mike Pence, who worked to destroy his father, him, and the entire Flynn family? Might someone recall the FBI who threatened Flynn Jr. if General Flynn did not comply? Could a lawyer see a problem with that? I mean, I can and I am not a lawyer.
President Trump did Not endorse Wood for his political run in N.C. Instead Trump endorsed the other candidate during the primaries.
Sometimes President Trump made decisions we didn't understand, given the information in the public sphere. Like any manager, he can have people he respects and relies upon, but has strategic purposes for inserting certain people in certain roles.
Lin Wood was forced out of his law firm and they are now presently suing him for millions.
President Trump was repeatedly impeached and has been under unprecedented levels of litigation since 2015. They are still trying to 'get him'.
On DU, they brag about the unending lawsuits against the President. Same tactic is used against doctors who tell the truth - threats against license to practice medicine, firings, removal of hospital privileges, and in Dr. Hoffe's case, the burning down of his clinic.

Your 'information' is innuendo; there's a difference. A person has to be spinning it to consistently come up with illicit explanations for ordinary circumstances.

He was told by a source that “Special Forces” (There are many different types) had raided a Dark Site in Germany to obtain data and computers that where involved in massive voter fraud being committed by the CIA.
He said there was a shoot out and two or three Military personnel were killed as well as some CIA wounded or killed. A day or two later, one of the CIA operatives that were wounded was Gina Haspel herself.
I think General McKinerney was fed false information. Possible on purpose to discredit him.
Sidney Powell also said there was a raid. Neither a General nor an attorney is considered prone to making that kind of statement lightly. When they are about to be exposed, the Deep State takes counter measures, and then people on our side change course if needed. Infiltration isn't impossible (see Lindel audit happenings) it's not the only reason or particularly of concern as it has been happening against the Trump administration for years now.
Shortly after all of that I didn’t hear much from General McKinerney and I assumed he decided to retire somewhere near a golf course or fishing stream. I thought he was elderly and deserved some peace.
You haven't been paying attention. He has been confronting the attack on our nation head on. I was very impressed with his combination of warmth and leadership while he respectfully heard, and countered despair in the man interviewing him, and told the young man (paraphrasing), "We need you. Your country needs you. You can't give up."
He's a warrior, a patriot, and a leader in the fight for our country, but go ahead and portray him as worn out and looking for bait on a dusty road near a quiet stream, while America battles for survival, and freedom around the world.
I also thought he fell for something that an younger General McKinerney wouldn’t fall for.
