India's Ivermectin Blackout: News of India's defeat of the Delta variant should be common knowledge. Yet, for some reason, we are not allowed to talk about it.

Ok, let’s say you were the health autgority of Tamil Nadu and have the chance to implement a strategy to fight the Delta Variant. What would you do?

I think what they did was what the Australians in New South Wales are doing now — Stringent lockdown.

I guess that would work. But is that a permanent strategy? Open and lock, open and lock, rinse and repeat indefinitely?

BTW, I’m still unconvinced that the data gathered from Uttar Pradesh is inferior to that of the other Indian States. With this, we just have to agree to disagree

All of the Indian states implemented hard lockdowns which is another variable that isn't getting talked about much. The Desert Review writer doesn't mention the lockdowns at all and the expert in your linked video dismisses them as ineffective due to Indians having large family households.

But if you look at the Tamil Nadu versus Delhi case, there does appear to be a correlation between the timing of their lockdowns and the timing of their cases/deaths data. That is, Delhi locked down several weeks before Tamil Nadu, and their data likewise peaked several weeks before Tamil Nadu's. These were hard lockdowns with reductions in mobility of around 80% according to the cell phone data.

Incidentally, the video you linked was streamed on May 28, right when Tamil Nadu's data looked its worst. The video expert refers to Tamil Nadu as the worst case control group and praises Delhi's use of Ivermectin along with Uttar Pradesh. The Desert Review writer published his most strongly worded condemnation of Tamil Nadu and praise for Delhi around this time (on June 1 to be exact). Of course what we know now is that Tamil Nadu's data was in the process of turning the corner and trending downward.

My approach would be to throw everything at the virus -- vaccination, Ivermectin, HCQ, monoclonals. Lockdowns work but at high cost so I would avoid them. To me the best long term approach is to calm down, do what we can, and make our peace with letting this relatively mild disease play out. To some degree I think it's going to do what it's going to do, and what will end it is herd immunity which will be achieved somewhat independent of our actions.

The funny thing is that just yesterday there were posters on this very site who were lambasting fellow Freepers for trying to find out how they could buy Ivermectin from Indian pharmacies. As if the “bloody wogs” were too lamebrained to make simple pharmaceuticals.

the lack of any comprehensive western effort to evaluate and repurpose old therapeutics tells the story better than anything.

instead of investigation, they were and are ridiculed, misrepresented, key-word banned on some sites, etc.

that tells you all you need to know.

“The mechanisms of action of Ivermectin against SARS-CoV-2: An evidence-based clinical review article”

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41429-021-00430-5

That link is to a long paper from June 2021 that supports the idea that ivm can bind to the spike, but it includes this addendum that makes nothing seem definite yet:

“22 June 2021 Editor’s Note: Readers are alerted that the conclusions of this paper are subject to criticisms that are being considered by the editors and the publisher. A further editorial response will follow the resolution of these issues.”

no first world country has even considered comprehensive investigation of promising existing medication candidates, so I am not holding my breath on ivermectim ever getting further info.

it is a breathtaking betrayal of pretty much the entire population of western world. clearly the powers that be consider this to be a move that will not be subject to the usual consequences one might expect.

On sale for the extravagant price of $1.70. Unfortunately a prescription is required.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I don’t think India requires a prescription. I’ll ping FReeper Fred Nerks to confirm. I think the link below is the one he has used.
I just tried the full kit, added it to cart and it’s asking for payment, so I don’t see where it would require a prescription.
https://www.ziverdokit.store/product-page/ziverdo-kit
You can get a telemedicine apointment with America’s Frontline Doctors and to have an appointment and get a prescription. Then meds are separate and are either sent to the pharmacy nearest you that would fill it (likely a compounding pharmacy) or use an online pharmacy. Others have gotten it without problem.
That’s as much as one can do, supply the information and let them make up their own minds. The woods are full of paid propaganda merchants, FR seems to be crawling with them.
