Quit abusing the Breaking news sidebar.

During the late 70’s there was a building boom going on in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
This may just be the tip of the iceberg.........................

I wonder who was in charge of building inspections back then and how much he made off with?

Was it because they weren’t wearing mask inside the building?

Well, yes. That’s the way it usually goes in urban areas.
I was just wondering if the guys responsible for allowing substandard construction could be identified or if it would just stop with the building owners.

No history of the building itself was given.

I am actually surprised that the Death Toll from the Building Collapse only took 98 Lives given the time it happened.
I thought it would have been more than 200 after watching the Video.
BTW - If DeSantis runs for POTUS in 2024 the Media will make certain that he was directly responsible for the collapse.

That bldg was put up around 2000 +- after Andrew and under upgraded codes, plus it not even close to the shore
To: Bell Bouy II
Close to the shore doesn’t really matter all that much when the winds are 150+ mph.................

“The city of Miami currently has 2,439 buildings on its unsafe structure list.”
Not a good record. I lived and worked in Coral Gables, back in the mid-70s, and we never heard of buildings collapsing or an “unsafe bldgs list”.

East side will not see anywhere near that
150 mph, thats funny
To: carriage_hill
thats because they were putting them up at that time.
Worked for Bell Tel in the 70/80 in S Fl and we couldn’t wire the places quick enough. Some were being occupied b4 we could service them. Boom town
