I am well aware of the military uses. But you seem to be unaware where they originate.

Sorry, Sunshine, seems you’ve never been in the military to say that.
My Grandfather was from Liverpool England. When one gets out that far in country their accents are very deep. More so than a Londoner’s.
When was beginning to learn to speak I lived with my Grandparents for quite some time.
3 phrases have stuck with me and I use them without even realizing it.
