Putting Communism in the Dock
American Thinker ^ | 6 Aug, 2021 | Igor Mel’čuk

The Nuremberg trials permanently revealed Naziism’s evil. It’s time we make a concerted effort to destroy the remaining leftist ideologies.

I might have a slight advantage over most of the brilliant people who write for American Thinker. I am significantly older and from the ex-USSR, so I have lived through and experienced first-hand all the charms of the regime that is now -- slowly, but steadily – being installed in America (and, subsequently, in the whole civilized world).

What I am referring to comes under different names and in different clothes, whether it’s today’s American Democratic Party, neo-Marxists, Soviet and international communists, Hitler’s Nazis, Islamists, the Black Lives Matter gang, white supremacists, woke adherents, etc. But the name does not matter; what unites all the people marching under those banners are convinced of three things:

-A minority has the right to impose its will on any majority by force and in violation of natural and social laws.

-Contrary and/or dissenting opinions must be quashed and crushed (together, of course, with their holders).

-To achieve the above state of affairs, power in the respective country must be seized and retained at any price.

A savvy reader will easily recognize here Lenin’s well-known theses. Nothing has changed since 1918.

The people standing for such views – let me call them for short “the Left,” no matter whether they identify themselves as Left or Right -- want to destroy our world. And they have raised their ugly heads and are winning one battle after the other.

We must remember that, while one of the strongest and most successful leftist entities-- Hitler’s National-Socialist Party -- was officially liquidated and buried, all the other branches of this poisonous tree flourish. Why?

Unfortunately, it's too late for this author's prescription.

The Left is already in control of the basic institutions of society. In other words, the cancer is now in control of the body.

I don’t have to have been from Russia pre 1989 to see the evils of communism rotting this country. It’s been obvious for decades. The only good commie is a dead commie.

Good morning Rooster!

Exactly right you are. B/c the left controls significant institutions around the world, ....not that something should be attempted, but .... one has to take some important additional steps to protect the effort and the people. Those participating, supporting a privately Nuremburg II will be the targets to be destroyed by the left, which might also include their lives.

The only way to get rid of communism is to get rid of communists. These people are broken.

When I was growing up, I was around men and women who either fought Communists- my dad was a Marine chopper pilot who served two tours, and knew a bunch of his (and my friends) who were Vietnam and Korean War vets. Or, they fled Communism (Vietnamese friends, one Latvian lady who fled Stalin's hordes). By the time I was an adult, I pretty much knew what Communism was all about.

Todays young folks (people under 40) never had that. They are swayed by the teachers and college professors who talk about the glories of "Socialism". NOTE- I had one college professor who gushed about the glories of Mao's China, how the block-rule system (where the local neighborhood Commisar kept everyone in line) was superior to anything here in America. I just rolled my eyes, put the answers she was wanting on all the tests, and got a B.

Putting Communism in the Dock

Does the author mean: "Docket?"

A docket in the United States is the official summary of proceedings in a court of law.

Dock: An artificial basin for ships that has gates to keep the water in or out 2 : a waterway usually between two piers to receive ships

It looks like things have moved into Biblical territory (i.e., Ends Times for real this time).

No...they mean dock.

Assuming English is your second tongue, here’s the background.
_________________________

The phrase “in the dock” is an idiomatic expression that means someone or something is being subjected to examination or trial. It is a British expression, more commonly used in the United Kingdom than in the United States. The origin of the phrase is rooted in the traditional layout of the English courtroom.

In the United States, the defendant and his or her legal counsel sit at a table across from the judge and to one side of the plaintiff or prosecutor. This is part of American tradition, intended to show the two sides as symbolically equal before the eyes of the law and to allow the defendant to see the witnesses against him or her. In Britain, however, the defendant sits in an enclosed area on the opposite side of the judge from the witness stand. This enclosed area, symbolically keeping the defendant in custody during the trial, is known as the dock, possibly stemming from the obsolete Flemish word docke meaning “cage.” The defendant in an English criminal trial is therefore physically and literally in the dock.

Thanks for the explication, Covenantor!

Assuming English is your second tongue, here’s the background.

No, I'm American (though I have spent 2/3 of my life abroad). I would have thought that, for an American, the preferred expression would have been, "to place someone in the docket" (i.e., under investigation / critical examination).

Here's what's going on (BTW, the Left is an example of the "Man of Lawlessness," a kind of collective "Man of Lawlessness"):

2 Thessalonians 2

The Man of Lawlessness

2 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Stand Firm

13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits[b] to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings[c] we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
