I find it curious that we went through a year of covid without hearing a word about variants, which all viruses generate, until shortly after the vaccines were introduced; vaccines which caused states to relax restrictions and begin a return to normalcy.

I am with you. I believe the vaccine is a net good, and important for those most at risk. That said,it is not perfect as painted by the leftist scolds and Karens. It has both risk and ripple effects. It makes perfect sense that a virus would transform to beat an artificial barrier.
