What The Delightful Patriotism Of Olympian Gold Medalist Tamyra Mensah-Stock Says About America

American athletes can make a lot of money demonizing their own country these days. The world stage of the Olympics, then, presents a prime opportunity to cash in on the lucrative industry of self-hatred. U.S. wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock however, took no shame in competing on behalf of the United States at the Tokyo games. Quite the opposite.

“I love representing the U.S.! I freaking love living there,” Mensah-Stock told a reporter while draped in the stars and stripes upon winning the gold. “I’m so happy I get to represent U.S.A!”

America’s Tamyra Mensah-Stock won gold at Tokyo in wrestling:

It was a refreshing display of American pride at a world event saturated with anti-American protests from the nation’s own athletes.

U.S. hammer thrower Gwen Berry kicked off her time in Tokyo with a show of contempt for the national anthem and the American flag.

“I was p-ssed, to be honest,” Berry complained after she became the most famous third-place Olympian in the qualifiers for the Track and Field Team trials when she turned her back on the flag during “The Star-Spangled Banner.” “I feel like it was a setup, and they did it on purpose… I didn’t really want to be up there.”

Berry had no problem, however, showering herself in red, white, and blue under the American flag just six years ago shown in the photo below that was posted on her own website.

What changed? Aggressive wokeism has begun to normalize American hatred with lucrative incentives.

On Sunday, Berry pledged to re-up her audition for a Nike deal with a promise to “represent the oppressed people” if she won the gold on Tuesday. She ultimately failed to medal.

One has to wonder, however, whether Berry was really competing for the sake of the gold, or if she was merely seeking another spot on a podium to vilify as “oppressive” the very country that sent her overseas to proudly represent it.

Mensah-Stock and Berry are both black. Under the progressive lens, both are oppressed by the virtue of their skin color regardless of their athletic participation at the highest level on the planet. The two Olympians, however, have completely different worldviews: one that’s bought into the left-wing lie of irredeemable oppression oblivious to their personal circumstances and another that recognizes the United States as a land of opportunity.

Unlike Berry, Mensah-Stock is a champion. Not just because the wrestler won the gold while Berry failed to place, but because Mensah-Stock has rejected the leftist myth that America is an irredeemable empire stoked in the kind of racism that would bar the two from even competing in the first place. Berry, on the other hand, attended the games more interested in demonizing the nation she had the privilege to represent.

What does it say, however, that an Olympian medalist’s unapologetic patriotism is so refreshing? It clearly struck a chord online, with the clip above garnering nearly 2 million views as of this writing, with laudatory praise on Twitter.

God bless @MensahTamStock for this much needed dose of patriotism & joy and congratulations on making history!!!! You are inspiring!!!

1) congrats to Tamyra Mensah-Stock on becoming the first black woman from the U.S. to win a gold medal in Olympic wrestling.

2) pretty sad state of affairs that it's celebrated or even noteworthy in some circles that someone like Tamyra is openly proud to be an American. https://t.co/wHIbKHyjqA

The reaction signals a divided nation in decline as the leftist dogma that characterizes American society as one of endless racism infects its most powerful institutions. The poisonous dogma bred on American campuses has now been pushed mainstream by the leadership of New York boardrooms and D.C. newsrooms, collaborating in an effort to make Berry a bold, celebrated activist and Mensah-Stock a unique outlier.

In a healthy country, however, the latter would be normal and even expected.

According to my nephew, he was watching Fox at work last night and the Fox folks were commenting how NBC scrubbed the portion of her post-match interview where she talks of giving thanks to God and how much she loves America.

imagine that.

I watched it and they did scrub it a bit but you got the overriding theme- she’s proud to be an American.

Of course they found their new hero in the Raven woman who won bronze in the shot put then crossed her arms on the podium to show “solidarity” for black Americans and the LBGTQRTUIYRWSCBHTES community. They keep showing her.

Meanwhile the American woman who won the discus Gold medal and demolished the field by ten feet- a white woman who was formerly a professional dancer and does not look like the other woman throwers (she’s tall, thin and shapely)- they gave her 50 seconds of coverage.

Contrast this with the past 70 years of Olympian athletes defecting from oppressive countries.

I wish these girls soccer clowns and disrespectful others would consider defecting to Cuba or other lovely country.

Tamyra was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in the Houston, Texas suburbs. Her father was a Ghanaian who lived in Ghana until the age of 30, and her mother is from Illinois

She’s flipping adorable, I loved seeing her on tv and had no idea of what a strong Christian she is. She’s got the strength, drive, discipline, boundless energy and she’s as uplifting as heck.
