Highly venomous cobra on the loose in Texas town
The HILL ^ | 5 Aug 2021 | LEXI LONAS

A highly venomous cobra is on the loose in Grand Prairie, Texas, after it went missing from a home on Tuesday.

The owner was permitted to have the snake by the State of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

A bite from the West African Banded Cobra could be lethal to humans, and the snake is aggressive.

“I left to go get food for my other animals down the street and I came back, and the cage door was open by an inch," he said. "She must have found a way to open it up."

He believes the snake is either dead inside the walls of his home or died outside in the heat.

I have watched a lot of snake/mongoose fights on YouTube. Just fascinating. The mongoose is a natural predator of the cobra and almost always wins.

"Because there’s all these idiots out there owning poisonous snakes as if its cool."

This citizen may own a business that "milks" venom for research or pharmaceutical use.

Just speculation.

Every other week there’s another cobra on the loose. Why do we allow cobra’s to be shipped in to the US?

A Cobra can bite multiple times, known as the “walk of death.”

Oh, but even 90 is so much hotter than it would ever get in West Acrica.... The idiot who thinks a cobra can’t live in the heat we have been having in Dallas this summer doesn’t have the IQ to have a driver’s license, much less be permitted to have a poisonous snake.

Probably living off of rats and mice in the walls of the house.

- Why would ANYONE think it was a good idea to keep such an animal as a “pet” is beyond my understanding. -

Local news had a short segment about this and they asked the owner why he kept such a dangerous snake. He ducked the question, and I got the impression he's not the sharpest guy on the block.

When I lived in Houston, a cobra got loose in my high rise apartment building, and cruised the 3rd floor. Freaking Texas.

I saw his dumb@ss on the local news today. He said he didn’t even have a lock on the cage door. Must be a heckuva screening process to get said permit.

Long ago when I lived in the GREAT State of Texas, most everyone had a rifle in the back window of the pickup.

The Cowboys would have been split between the ones who wanted to catch it barehanded and the ones who wanted to shoot it between the eyes.

May have been some collateral damage but they would have gotten that sucker one way or the other!

A cobra dead of the heat?

The guy is really that stupid or thinks others are?

I hope it finds him at home and kisses him hello.

What a fool.
