It’s a live volcano. Earthquakes are to be expected.
Swarms are a known precursor to eruptions. If that Caldera blows, America is gone. Kaput.
All this pearl clutching over global warming and other nonsense doesn’t even come close to the danger that is developing with Yellowstone.
Oh my! Maybe this is it! Again.
Oh well, better to die of natural causes than the suicidal pathway this nation is on.
We’re all doomed! Doomed I tell ya’
Major ground deformation (measured in feet, not millimeters), hydrothermal explosions, geysers going dry, a shallow M6 earthquake, would be real warning signs. Or yeah, and dogs lying down with cats.
If they want any suggestions for sacrificing humans to the volcano gods.
I have plenty.
Oh no! I told you we have to do something about evil white western humans and their global warming!
it would be ironic if old Yellowstone took out the world before Planet X...talk about over kill....
Well that’s Jellystone for you
I’ll be there in a few days
I plan on staying in West Yellowstone and I will be drinking plenty of beer if the earthquakes become more severe like they did before Mt St Helen’s erupted. I was on Patrol up north of Iceland when that happened and I remember reading a story about it early one morning after getting off watch
As a young navy officer, I was stationed in Idaho and I lived in Idaho Falls. Every chance I could, I drove over to Yellowstone. I’ve been back several times since then but none of the visits were as good as when I used to check out gear and go snow shoe. The only Yellowstone access in winter was the northwest entrance so I had to drive up through Montana and then back south into the park. But in winter, I had lots of things all to myself.
Not all of Yellowstone’s eruptions are the BIG ones so the odds are with me that I’ll be driving away in a couple of weeks all inspired again
