Not sure I actually picked up on that part of the statement, but all of the Northern tier landmasses are littered with polar bears. Which is the real issue. They aren’t endangered even when found floating on icebergs. I spent five years in Alaska back when hunting Polar bears was legal.
There’s a whole lot of never mind with that article and the author, but bingo on the distance to hatcheries.
