Yes, let's all remember those breathless first dispatches from Wuhan. People collapsing in the streets as if they had been gassed, crews in hazmat suits coming to their aid. Pure chaos. Those photos and stories look ludicrous now, but they sure got THE FEAR going worldwide, which was certainly the intent.
