I was curious what "relevant authority" the BBC would report a commenter to. Didn't take long to find it. From the UK cops' "True Vision" website (https://www.report-it.org.uk/): "Any incident or crime which is perceived by the victim to be motivated by hostility to people based on their sexual orientation will be recorded as such."

So the UK cops can treat anything as a hate crime even if it's not a crime, which I'm assuming means incidents of posting things about the pretenders.

I think you inadvertently neglected to emphasize the most important relevant phrase which is: “... perceived by the victim ...”

One would think that even it’s most fervent proponents of this insanity/asininity would be embarrassed, but one would be wrong.
