It’s has already been implemented. They’re just more open about it in china. In the USA, where politicians have more experience with hypocrisy, they allow corporations to implement it, with their blessings.

By allowing corporations to do it, and never ever prosecuting them, the government is actually rolling out the social score system. But it will never admit it.

There already is a social credit system in the USA.

You can get credit for volunteering for a non profit organization.

The organization has to register with the program and you have to document your hours.

This can mean volunteering to drive senior citizens around, deliver meals, etc., for the local community action program.

It can also mean working on your club's ATV and snowmobile trails, clearing brush, building bridges, etc.

This can be a tyrannical power grab, or can be a good thing, getting people off their dead butts to help with trail maintenance.

Cash usage has taken a big hit during Covid, is my take on the situation. I agree with your philosophy.

There have been widespread reports of the military pursing members social media for support of conservative causes and DoJ using credit card and other data to target 1/6 protesters.

What is the difference between that and the Chinese social credit system?

The problem with the Republican Party is that it is devoid of any convictions, beliefs or principles. If they did they would be fighting like hell for much smaller government, the preservation of our liberties, protection of our democratic processes. All they do is kowtow to the Left and support the expansion of big government.

In short, the GOP is a fake party that stands for nothing. Unless we eventually form a real conservative party we will forever have no one representing us.

It’s coming, maybe sooner than later.

Predicted in Scripture as the Mark of the Beast.

This is a criticism that really applies to the party beginning with Eisenhower: who could have saved the country from its current fate at minor cost but instead was Mr No Repeal instead. I say this because it was with Eisenhower’s form of Republicanism that we see the party simply walking away from fights for what might be deemed that ship has sailed sorts of arguments.

That said Eisenhower’s party WAS a sort of progressive party, and only recently the party of the Me Too party. I would not expect them to be standing up for governance by constitutional means because they had already been aboard on Arbitrary government … and if they were “conservative” at all it would be in the sense of being Democrat Lites as they had become through FDR’s tenure.

Still, once modern conservatism made inroads into the Republican Party it was this very habit of walking away from important fights and being unwilling to even try once something gets started that colors the Republicans. “Conservative” should not mean simply whatever government has gotten away with doing long enough, or at all in the case of Obamaharm, somehow becomes okay.

On top of this very few elected Republicans ever seemed to recognize that the Democrats were not their friends, They repeatedly trust Democrats even as Democrats have decades worth of being perfectly willing to screw Republicans to the wall over any imagined or spurious accusation … and accusations against Republicans are taken seriously by Republicans, who seem almost eager to tear into each other to avoid being seen as bad people. “Never Trump” was just the latest example of this.

Really the term Quisling applies to far too many Republicans when it comes to their dealings with Democrats.

RINOs are not the real RINOs … rather those who have tried to get Republicans to be something better than they have historically been are the Republicans in name only.

The Democrats are now the enemy of this nation and its people, rather than just the enemy of its Constitution and political rivals as FDR was, but the RNC just doesn’t seem to be able to learn that lesson no matter how many opportunities the Democrats give them.

They’re sorta like (with respect to this inability to see who the Democrats are) this one, IIRC, San Francisco council woman from the 80s or early 90s who on camera just couldn’t believe that homosexuals engaged in sodomy.

It also hurts businesses in your area when you charge everything and make them pay the bank fee.

Eisenhower managed to get elected in a country that was still dominated by Democrats and a little in love with FDR, so there were limits to what he could achieve. He was similar to Clinton, who got elected in a country that was still more Republican than Democrat and had to moderate his policies. Like Clinton, Eisenhower only had control of Congress until his first midterms.

I wouldn’t be surprised. The General Population is so STUPID, it’s easy to pull anything over on them, these days.

Just look to the past two years for a shining example!

All by design, Comrade. All. By. Design. :(

The dirty little secret of a totalitarian society is that _everyone_ is an enemy of the state—no exceptions.

This includes useful idiots and any threat, real or perceived, to the person who ultimately rises to the the top of the heap in a totalitarian dictatorship. Perfect examples of the latter are the night of the long knives in Germany and the late 30s purges in the USSR.

**********

We stand no chance at all if “our party” continues to be the GOP but a small chance if we had a real party that it willing to fight for what is right. The weak and corrupt GOP simply will not stand up to the Left.

Meanwhile, the Left has destroyed our culture, our institutions, and any semblance of confidence and trust in our government. And the economy will soon be added to that list. In the best of circumstances it would take a miracle to save what little is left of the republic.
