Makes you wonder what the Dems have on Michael Steel?
I had high hopes at one time. In 2010 it was clear he was totally incompetent. He burned the RNC to the ground - broke and without resources. The election victories that year were totally organic by the tea party movement and an generally enthused GOP base. But they could have been even better - perhaps with a Senate takeover, if the RNC was actually a factor providing resources.

“GOP establishment” is an interesting (and ignorant) key word put on this article, since Steele and company with the Lincoln Project fought to defeat Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham etc. in the last election cycle. Their goal was, and is, to destroy the Republican Party entirely - Trump, McConnell, Collins, Graham, whomever. Republicans of all stripes.

I worked with him 30 years ago when he was the president of our county’s Republican club and back then he was a nice guy. Not any more.
