Terrible. Tragic. The UK mostly if not exclusively used the AstraZeneca vaccine. I had read here previously (maybe a little over a week ago) that hospitalizations in the UK were 60:40, unvaxxed to vaxxed. That is not a ringing endorsement. Perhaps the AZ vaccine is just not all that good. Or perhaps it is more prone to ADE. Or not good at the Delta variant. Or who knows what other factors? Maybe it’s just damn deadly when combined with the actual virus or its mutants.
From my friends in biotech, they generally regard the AZ vaccine as one of the weakest of the bunch. Hard to know what’s what with so much data being censored or unreported. FWIW, AZ is applying for full US approval. IMO they are way too late but perhaps there is more to an approval than just the US market.

probably that, coupled with the fact that mostly the elderly and sick get vaccinated might contribute to the higher incidences of death
