The Alan Parsons Project- Breakdown
Posted on 07/29/2021 8:32:20 PM PDT by CrimsonTidegirl
I was Perusing FR and reading the frightening articles about the ever expanding, global CoupFlu tyranny and this song started playing on my phone.
I love this song and the lyrics of the choir at the end are apropos: “Freedom, freedom, we will not obey. Freedom, freedom, take the wall away.”

Great song, good post. Recommend this whole album, I Robot, as well as Tales of Mystery and Imagination.

Eric Woolfson (RIP) was the real genius of the APP.
Pyramid is my favorite APP album.

Favorite Parson’s song: I Wouldn’t want to Be Like You ( I Robot)
Sounds a lot like Steely Dan

The first time I heard (The System of) Doctor Tarr and Professor Feather, I thought it was Steely Dan.

I have all of their albums downloaded. I purchased the “Ammonia Avenue” vinyl when I was in Junior High.
“Don’t Answer Me” and the Title Track are my favorites from the LP.
I fell in love with APP when I first heard them.

Just listened to it and I have to say, the beginning is very similar to The Bee Gees - Lonely Days.

Don’t leave false illusion behind
Don’t cry, I ain’t changing my mind
So find another fool like before
‘Cause I ain’t gonna live anymore
Believing
Some of the lies
When all of the signs are deceiving
