I walk the dog at that pace.
I think she was also in the Herbie Hancock Rockit video.
That robot sucks. I hope that isn’t full speed - the humans are walking faster than the robot is running.
They should have turned the speed way up before they waste people’s time - even if it crashes a few times - let’s see how fast it can go.
I did the three mile run in Marine Corps boot camp in 22:30. And I was slow. The fastest people were under 18 minutes.
They only showed it walking, and it was a terribly awkward gait.
Not sure I would call that a “run.” More like a fast walk.
When a bipedal robot can rollerskate on quads in dim light in a rink full of humans with a range of age and experience AND avoid falling or injuring other skaters, the product will be mature. I’m not making bets on when that might be achieved.
My best 5K time ever was was in the high 16s (in my late 30s) and I was no star, striving for adequate and an age-group medal. At the Monday evening races we used to run around a small lake every summer, the winner usually came in a little over or under 15:00. Even now I could walk it a lot quicker than the robot ran! But the arthritic knee would make me pay the price next day.
