When this happened last year, it was speculated that it was just a man-shaped drone.

This year's sighting was at 5,000', which is beyond the capabilities of any jet-powered suit or Hydrogen Peroxide rocket jetpack.

That we are currently unaware. Not to say someone may have “perfected” a jetpack and enjoying the fruits of his/her labor.

Your assumption is that they started from the ground.

They easily could have jumped out of a skydiving plane.
