She is adamant about sending them the money now and waiting to get it back and I can’t win that argument, so we are going that direction.
To the IRS’ credit, we have had a couple of experiences where IRS found mistakes we made and sent us the overpayment back! It can take a couple of years, but they do send the money back. At some point they should realize we overpaid 2019 and get the money back.
With wives you can be right or you can be happy. You will most likely get the money back at some point.
