“the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.”
Amen to that. We were instructed to first send our form to Fresno, CA. Then the second time to send it to Kansas City, MO. Then the third time to send it to Cincinnati, OH! They are really fouled up.
“...try to get through to them on the phone; the situation might have improved by now.”
Nope, it is FAR WORSE. You don’t get put into a long call queue. The system says “higher than expected call volume...blah, blah, blah...call us the next business day.” I’ve NEVER had any organization or business tell me that. I’m sure it will be a LOT better when Obama / Biden get done installing full communism.
That is what they have been doing for months now. Sorry it has not improved since our situation. It caused us a lot of stress as well as we were counting on getting the long overdue refund and instead got multiple notices saying that we had not filed and implying that we were in big trouble.
Which software were you using to file electronically? Every year I consider dumping “Free File Fillable Forms” and using something that will cut down on my work load, but after hearing of your bad experience I consider myself lucky.
