The surviving Monty Python players are all pretty liberal. I wonder if any of them look back on that skit and regret making fun of the nascent trans movement. Or if not regret, as if they’re now better informed now on what reality is then they were back then.
That is true. I will say though, as this sketch illustrates amply, they took shots at all sides (in this case, a man who wishes to be a woman) so they certainly understood that concept.
They did enjoy poking fun at Conservatism and the military, no doubt, but also dished to the lunatics on the Left.
