Intel had a contract similar with Rambus.
Intel was forced to design substandard chips using Rambus until the contract expired.
The end result is Intel abandoned all projects using Rambus and Rambus died as a company.
Just because things work best using the Supply and Demand system, doesn’t mean one needs to be stupid about it. But, like they say - fear is the best salesman.
