This story and your comment are interesting. A few years back there was a bit of research going on regarding the falling birth rates worldwide, especially in countries where the quality of life was declining, along with the age-old debate around how many people can the earth support. In fact, there is even supposition that government policies such as supporting abortion were initially enacted to reduce birth rates amongst the "undesirable" portion of the population to ensure they did not outnumber the desirable portion (see the writings of Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood).

Then we come to the Communism / Socialism / Progressiveism conundrum. You can buy votes with OPM (other peoples money) so long as there are "other people". If there is a declining birth rate among the producers of society, then that constitutes a crisis, because then you truly will run out of OPM. So, what if you make it so that women are more attractive and men are hornier? As Brylcream almost used to say ... a little jab will do ya!
