They are not discontinuing RT-PCR testing. They are discontinuing the original Assay Kit distributed from the CDC. There are litterally dozens RT-PCR Assay kits. CDC is specifically recommending labs transition to Multi-analyte Respiratory Panel Tests, so they can test for multiple illnesses in one test. OMG, so evil! As always, the OP is just misinformation.

do you know what tests they are using to determine variants, and/or have any information on how how they are getting their variant statistics ?

I cannot seem to find anything.

missing data and rectally excreted and repeated statistics always smell funny to me.
