There is a lot of capital tied up in cruise ships, a lot of jobs across the globe in shipyards, and a lot of jobs tied up in port services. I don't think it can all go away just like that. On the other hand the global warmist cabal has been trying to get rid of the entire industry for years, and this is their big opportunity. They don't like the hoi polloi gallavanting around the globe. That's for special people on private yaghts.

On the other other hand, all the emerging nations want the onboard jobs that cruise lines offer, and the smaller island nations want the tourism that cruise lines brings.
When the workers are done with shipboard life, they go back home with skills to open their own hospitality businesses.
