My doctor advised me that since the "disease" the vaccines were targeted for, the covid, had a 99.8% survivability rate and an extremely high recovery rate even if I contracted it, why would I risk fate and get a vaccine for something that wasn't that risky to begin with?

I agreed. No vaccine for me.

Covid19 is not only about the risk to you but also to others that you could spread it to like your family.
If your doctor didn’t at least inform you of that for your thoughtful consideration then I would get a new doctor.
