Ants can be entertaining.
But posting goofy articles on FR is more fun.

The only way we would watch any of it is if Babymetal or Bandmaid are playing during the opening or closing ceremonies.

And I will say this, when did “Imagine” become some kind of World Anthem? They play it now at every Olympic Opening Ceremonies.

But that’s our world today.

I fully believe that if there WERE people in the stadium when Osaka was revealed, there would have been an audible gasp, and likely a lot of murmuring. I doubt there would’ve been anyone booing, since that really isn’t a Japanese thing.
I did watch the whole shebang, and I noted that she didn’t even really look like she was even a little bit excited. She seemed to move in a manner that felt ‘lazy’.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a bunch of Japanese call for the firing of whoever made the decision to name her.

I see Toyota the 0limpic sponsor is NOT buying any air time? Says who??? I counted no less than FOUR commercials from Toyota during the OC. They weren't really about cars, except for one.

That’s a good point, there’s no way they would have picked her if the stadium was full.
In fact this whole BLM kneeling nonsense would have never happened without COVID.

I think they meant air time in Japan itself.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a bunch of Japanese call for the firing of whoever made the decision to name her. I don't think it was the Japanese's call, I suspect they were under pressure from the IOC.

In other news Brisbane Australia gets the 2032 summer games. I suppose as an Aussie I should be happy but honestly I no longer care.

Wasn’t it the only city that bid on them?

I guess so. I stumbled over this news at wiki. It seems the bidding format has changed and they basically voted yea or nay on Brisbane on the eve of these games. The page I saw had a lot of other cities who were thinking or something but I guess Brisbane thought the hardest.
