My father was in the first contingent of American troops to Arrive in Britain in ‘42 on board the Queen Mary. I crossed the N. Atlantic twice on the Queen Mary and twice on the Queen Elizabeth. Once in ‘51 and once in ‘56. I was 6 & 10 on those trips. I can remember them well, too much to tell here. You may have guessed that my mom was a war bride and half my family is English. You never lived until you’ve experienced lifeboat drill in the North Atlantic in December.

I crossed the Pacific six times on MSTS 1951-1961.
On the last trip I was 13 years old.
