reminds me of the CIA back in the 90’s. They never got anything right but always managed to get funding increases because they knew who’s back to scratch during appropriations time. Then, when their work was used to justify actions they didn’t agree with, they acted like nothing they did or said actually happened and all their “white papers” and policy prescriptions and proscriptions were not “actionable”.
They never thought they would be called to the carpet, and they never were.
This is all traceable to the Clintons and that abject disaster of an election in 1992. That election is something this country will never recover from.
