Lack of technology does not destroy Communism. Communists can steal, conquer, or pirate whatever thy want. What destroys them is corruption. It is inevitable. When corruption is externally employed, it also dominates internally. The best jobs are not granted to the most competent, they are given to the most corrupt. This will always eventually destroy the organization from within. It will flourish, for a while, then the inevitable cancer of corruption will take over.
Corruption does have a lot to do with the inevitable destruction of communism, but so does the inherent disadvantage of central planning. Communism has to have power and control over everything which means everything has to be centrally planned, and that can never compete with thousands of entrepreneurs.
