Is there a short wave radio station that gives reliable news?
How about a ham radio emergency news frequency?
Had major fire mandatory fire evacuation and roads out for a couple years due to flood. I have that part figured out. What long radio stations are reliable?

Buy a 2 meter hand-held. You won’t be able to transmit without a license but can listen all you want. They typically have a ‘scan’ feature. No scheduled news but you will find HAMs talking about local emergencies as they’re occurring ...And providing assistance to area govt. agencies. I have all of $59 into mine.
