Agreed. Break it up. Keep the labs/technical components, distributing them to other agencies. So-called "leadership" should be fired and barred from ever holding any law enforcement related position again. As in not even allowed to be a janitor at a police station. The "rank and file" should be fired and admonished to go find more respectable work, like piano player in the local brothel...
The thirty thousand or so FBI minor employees belong to a hapless organization led by fascist-minded superiors. They have nothing to be proud of. Truth be told, the FBI, practically from its inception, has never been an organization to be proud of. Its ineptitude led to the creation of the OSS, CIA, DEA, and the proliferation of today’s civilian intel agencies.
