I used to think very highly of Gloria Estefan. I liked many of her songs. I didn’t know much about her personally, but it didn’t matter at that time. Then, I saw she was one of a small group of entertainers that refused to be a part of an awards ceremony because Donald Trump, as president would be presently the awards, as was the tradtion for any president.
I think it was Kennedy awards. The 93 y/o writer for All In The Family TV show said he too would be boycotting the show.
I thought Gloria was rather ungracious in this land that gave her a chance to become rich and famous. I got the feeling that her Husband/Manager was behind her making a stink about it.
My friends this could be an important moment-perhaps in our history. Fact is we have the wrong man in the White House. The island is 90 miles away and we’re in position to turn it around WITHOUT military action. It would be a loser. Humanitarian aid? Good for those in power who’ll take credit and make vague reform promises. I say give nothing without a change in government and dare outsiders to prop it up.
