Welcome, Noob. I’ve never seem a question like this one. I assume you are from the year 1981? Is your wife also 40?

I’ll tell you this - people who never had children usually regret it and have a hole in their heart and a profound sadness when it’s too late to do anything about it.

People who have had children go through madness for 15 years or so, but no one ever regrets bringing children into the world and any sacrifices made are never counted (except by psychopath moms but that’s another story)

A great book for learning how to cope with kids and all kinds of family situations is called The Bible.

Not exactly. There are moments when a mother with 2 or 3 year old pre-school boys has some regrets. And there are moments when a family has to deal with a teen aged girl. And there are moments when an elderly mother wonders why none of her children never visit her or even bother to call her. Overall, most people are very happy they did.
