This is from last year, and, yes, I'm well aware that the victim shouldn't have been walking down the middle of the interstate, but this story still does provide a cautionary tale against excessive speeding and other reckless forms of driving. If he had been hit by a car that was obeying the speed limit on an interstate, would he really have been in better shape after being hit (or would he have simply been a better-looking corpse)?

If the hypothetical driver wasn’t speeding, he would have more time to see the walker up ahead, presumably.
As for the article, no telling with these particular ding dongs, who hit him and then went on their merry way.

Dumbass shouldn’t have been on the interstate with a bicycle. Sad but It’s 100% his fault. It is completely unreasonable for drivers on the interstate to be expected to watch out for bicyclists.
