However, if Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy hold the leadership positions, thereby controlling the committee assignments and campaign funds for 2024, do you really anticipate the GOP will be any more effective in its opposition to Biden than it was against Obama from 2015-2017 when Mitch and Paul Ryan controlled Congress?
Electing a few more Republicans who profess to be conservatives does not mean conservative government or even adherence to conservative principles. At best the Republicans in Congress I’ve observed are pragmatists, not principled ideologues. At worst they are active collaborators.
