To: Alberta's Child

Well it was supposed to be a compromise or a competition. The popular election of senators, and the limiting of the House of Representatives to 435 members effectively destroyed the check/balance mechanism.

There must be some way of including “the people”. George Washington insisted on having one representative for every 30,000 persons. When we return to that system the House will simply meet either in an arena, or virtually with about 5,000 rep’s or something.

The Senators elected by the state governments will protect state powers and prevent financial stupidity.
The president can sign or veto their acts.
Only a judge can jail fine or execute somebody.
No delegation of lawmaking authority to ANY bureaucracy.

Best system ever devised.
Nothing wrong with it!
Foolish to have ever abandoned it.
Probably impossible to ever return to it.
