"All they wanted Pence to do was to rebuff the electors coming in from Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, lowering Biden's total below 270, kicking the presidential contest into a contingent election," Raskin said.

In the event that no presidential candidate can reach 270 Electoral College votes, the next president is selected by the House of Representatives. This rare situation has not arisen since the 19th century.

I don't get it. If Pence could have rebuffed AZ,GA,PA,(I don't believe he could according to US Code Title 3 Chapter 1-21) and those states did not re-certify,(which is what he is talking about - throwing out those electorals altogether) a case can be made that the number isn't 270, but a majority of 491(538-47) or 246. Pres. Biden would still have the majority - 259

12 Amendment
The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President , if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed;

Had it gone down that path, who knows how long it would have taken to be resolved.
