The current president pro tempore of the Senate is Patrick Leahy of Vermont. He was sworn in on January 20, 2021, during the 117th Congress, when the Democratic Party gained control of the Senate. He previously held the position from 2012 to 2015.

Secretary of State.
Antony John Blinken (born April 16, 1962) is an American government official and diplomat serving as the 71st United States secretary of state since January 26, 2021. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under President Barack Obama.
During his tenure in the Obama administration, he helped craft U.S. policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. [3] [4] After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a consulting firm

Secretary of the Treasury.
On January 26, 2021, Janet Yellen was sworn in as the 78th Secretary of the Treasury of the United States.

Secretary of Defense.
Lloyd James Austin III was sworn in as the 28th Secretary of Defense on January 22, 2021.
After a tour as the Army’s Vice Chief of Staff, Mr. Austin concluded his uniformed service as the Commander of U.S. Central Command, responsible for all military operations in the Middle East and Afghanistan. In this assignment, he led U.S. and coalition efforts to battle ISIS in Iraq and Syria. He retired from the Army in April, 2016.
Since his retirement from military service, Mr. Austin served on the Boards of Directors for Raytheon Technologies, Nucor, and Tenet Healthcare.

Attorney General.
Merrick B. Garland was officially sworn in as the 86th Attorney General of the United States on March 11, 2021.

Secretary of the Interior.
Secretary Deb Haaland made history when she became the first Native American to serve as a cabinet secretary. She is a member of the Pueblo of Laguna and a 35th generation New Mexican.
In Congress, she focused on environmental justice, climate change, missing and murdered indigenous women, and family-friendly policies.
