You are right that Delta is the new dominant (in urban areas iirc), and yes, the vaccine mfgrs are working or have developed an ‘update’ for Delta that will be in the booster shots). Since you got two of three right, you can have one piece of candy :)

What the original vaccine does is prevent severe disease and death from delta. However efficacy for preventing infection or mild/moderate disease (per Israel) is only 62%, which I suspect will be even lower with a larger data set. This number doesn’t give me the confidence to go to a grocery store where people are walking around maskless. Maybe the risk as of right now is low but the delta numbers are rising steadily.
