People, in general, have a very difficult time changing their worldview. They built their life around that worldview.
It takes a "Paul on the road to Damascas" type event to change it, in most cases.
Yes, precisely. And if you read the comments on some of the more political articles at the BikePortland website, you can see where people actually experience "Road to Damascus" — type incidents and have their beliefs challenged, and talk about it. That's what I found so interesting about the site.

I don’t think so. They are obviously willing to sacrifice you, your children, and anyone else in order to try and maintain their delusions. The current tally is hundreds of millions slaughtered in the last century alone, and that isn’t even counting the wars.
They have no intention of dying personally for their beliefs.
